Job Description - Director of Program Management - Engineering Operations

New Company:

Cpl is delighted to be partnering with a global Tech client as they continue to grow their recently established Software Engineering CoE in Ireland. This organisation is going through an exciting change, expanding their software solutions to further add value to their growing client base. To assist in the delivery of this significant transformation, the business is seeking a Director of Program Management - Engineering Operations to join the team.

About the role:

Reporting to the CTO, you will be responsible for providing strong leadership in creating, running and improving agile & gated engineering processes (SW & HW). This role will also see you act as a de facto Chief of Staff, supporting the CTO in all aspects of Engineering Operations across a global team of 300+.

Responsibilities :

·Drive the creation and continuous improvement of agile and gating processes for the global engineering teams, both hardware and software.

·Own and manage cross-functional changes to the process documents.

·Own project tracking and reporting for critical HW and SW products and technology initiatives, develop compelling, succinct metrics to communicate across the organization and at all levels.

·Drive change across engineering to raise the bar on software development.

·Lead the PMO, set standards and practices for product engineers and program managers, influence product and engineering managers.

·Coordinate the creation of new consumer products.

·Support the CTO is all aspects of global engineering operations & delivery.

Key Requirements :

·Industry recognised leader with 15+ years of industry experience.

·Deep experience running project and program management for software delivery teams. Hardware delivery exposure is a nice to have.

·Demonstrated success running program management organizations.

Organisational intelligence:

·Understand how decisions are made in a complex organisation.

·Can interface with a global organisation – identifying the right people to ask.

·Can operate by influence a large organisation.

·Ability to be effective in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.

·A willingness to take ownership of projects and drive them to completion.

·Excellent verbal and written communication.

·Strong interpersonal skills.
