Job Description - Document Controller

CEL is a leading Irish-owned company that has been successfully competing in global markets for 40 years. With 100 employees and plans to double in size over the next two years, we are on an exciting growth trajectory.

We design, manufacture, commission, and maintain mission-critical electrical switchgear and control systems for some of the world’s largest multinational data centre and pharmaceutical companies. Our prestigious customer base includes global industry leaders, and our technology powers some of the most advanced, high-performance facilities across EMEA and the USA.

Why Join CEL?

CEL is undergoing a transformational evolution, driven by strategic investment and the fusion of exceptional new talent with our experienced team. This synergy is fuelling growth by enhancing our product solutions, refining our business systems and processes, and strengthening our customer and vendor partnerships. Together, we are redefining how we operate, deliver, and grow, positioning CEL at the forefront of global mission-critical industries that demand precision, efficiency, and innovation—qualities that CEL is renowned for.

This is a new role in a fast-changing environment, where structure is still taking shape, and best practices are being developed from the ground up. We are looking for a Document Controller who will work closely with our engineering design and customer delivery teams. This role requires more than just organisational skills; we need someone who is ambitious, adaptable, and proactive—someone who thrives in first principles thinking, enjoys shaping work processes, and maintains high standards even in evolving conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement new document control processes to support our evolving operations.

· Manage critical documentation workflows (designs, tenders, RFIs) with accuracy and compliance.

· Drive consistency and best practices in document control across multiple departments.

· Collaborate with key stakeholders—engineers, project managers, and external partners—to ensure information is structured, accurate, and accessible.

· Enhance systems and reporting, ensuring document traceability and real-time project updates.

A Level 7 or Level 8 degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, OR significant hands-on experience in a manufacturing, construction, or contracts environment with a strong grasp of document control systems, ideally combined with electrical, project management or administrative trade accreditations or other formal coursework that demonstrates an interest in progressing one’s career and personal development.

· A structured thinker who thrives on creating order, improving processes, and maintaining high standards—where “good” is never good enough.

· A curious problem-solver who can navigate uncertainty, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement.

· Experience with document management platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint, Teams, or industry-specific EDMS tools is preferred.

· Knowledge of Autodesk Cloud and SAP ByDesign would be an advantage.

· Advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft 365, document workflows, compliance, and controls.

· The ability to work at pace, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in an evolving organisation.

· Someone who’s learning never stops—we value those who actively develop their expertise, and we invest in our people through sponsored training programs and upskilling opportunities.

· Ideally, 5-10 years’ work experience.
