Remuneration: €18.74 per hour, 39-hour week (€38,005 per annum)
Hours of Work: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday (shift patterns may apply depending on production requirements)
Annual Leave: 23 days per year
CEL Critical Power Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Technician to join our production team. Reporting to a Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will carry out electrical assembly, wiring and fault-finding on switchgear and critical power equipment to the highest standards of quality and safety, meeting specified targets and reporting all issues as required by CEL. Full training will be provided to allow progression within the role.
• Comply with CEL's Environmental, Health and Safety procedures at all times, including safe use of hand tools and electrical instrumentation.
• Perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting and moving components (up to 23 kg).
• Read and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and general assembly drawings to build switchgear panels and sub-assemblies.
• Carry out wiring, cable termination, cable stripping and labelling in accordance with wiring regulations and company standards.
• Assemble and install electrical sub-assemblies including wire harnesses, panel plates, control circuits and busbar/copper assemblies.
• Identify, diagnose and rectify electrical faults, non-conformances or build issues, escalating to the Supervisor or QA team where required.
• Follow all company Quality Control procedures and work instructions, completing tasks to defined build quality, torque, alignment and finish standards.
• Maintain a right-first-time mindset to reduce rework and defects.
• Maintain a clean, organised and audit-ready workstation, ensuring scrap and waste materials are stored safely prior to collection.
• Support the wrapping and preparation of finished products for shipment.
• Assist in other departments as required, and undertake any other duties within associated departments as requested by the Production Supervisor.
• Proven experience in an electrical assembly, panel building, or switchgear manufacturing environment.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical wiring practices and fault-finding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings.
• Strong EHS and housekeeping awareness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Well-organised, self-motivated and able to multi-task.
• Willingness to learn and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Comfortable working in a physically active role (standing, bending, lifting).
