Job Description - Facilities Manager

CEL, a 40-year Irish manufacturer and distributor of electrical switchgear, is seeking to expand within the global Data Centre industry from its new 160,000ft² facility in Grange Castle, Dublin. Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain, we are seeking a highly organized Facilities Manager who will play a critical role in ensuring continuity of availability for all facilities and equipment within CEL’s new facility in Grange Castle.

The Facilities Manager will lead the strategic and operational management of our new manufacturing facility, ensuring its readiness, reliability and compliance. This role includes overseeing the transition and decommissioning from our two existing facilities into our new site, managing all maintenance activities and ensuring optimal performance of building systems and infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing:

Facility Transition & Integration:

- Formulate and implement a detailed strategy for the operational move from two existing facilities to the new location.

- Collaborate with internal departments and external contractors to ensure a smooth transition of staff, equipment, and utilities.

- Supervise the commissioning and validation of all facility systems before the official transfer from the landlord to CEL.

Facilities Operations & Maintenance:

- Create and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

- Guarantee that all building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, security) function efficiently and dependably.

- Implement and sustain a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for monitoring maintenance activities.

- Build a thorough portfolio of approved vendors for conducting on-site repairs and maintenance.

Compliance & Safety:

- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards.

- Perform regular audits and inspections to uphold a safe working environment.

- Verify that vendors comply with all necessary regulations, conducting performance audits as needed.

- Lead the planning for emergency preparedness and response.

Budget & Resource Management:

- Develop and oversee the facilities budget, encompassing both capital and operational expenses.

- Negotiate and manage contracts with vendors and service providers.

- Monitor and report on cost efficiency and resource utilization.

Continuous Improvement:

- Promote ongoing improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing energy efficiency, sustainability, and reducing costs.

- Support strategic projects that align with business growth and operational excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:

·   Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

·   7+ years of experience in facilities management within a manufacturing or industrial setting.

·   Proven experience in facility commissioning and large-scale relocation projects.

·   Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance best practices.

·   Familiarity with CMMS and project management tools.

·   Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills.
