Field Service Engineer- Early Career/University Graduates\n\nKick-start your engineering career with worldclass training, hands on technical work, and international experience at Applied Materials\u2014the global leader in semiconductor technology. \n\nThis role is ideal for upcoming 2026 graduates, recent graduates or early-career engineers who value precision, discipline, and structured learning, and who are adaptable enough to succeed in very different cultural and operational environments. \n\nWhat you will do as a New College Graduate:\n\nField Service Engineers (FSE) are working in a state-of-the-art facility and at our customer site in Leixlip, Co. Kildare. where they are the face of Applied Materials and an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team. They like to troubleshoot hardware, solve complex problems, and make equipment work better.\n\nHands-On Engineering Work\n\n * Learn to install, maintain, and troubleshoot advanced semiconductor equipment with high-complex machine components \n\n\n * Work closely with experienced engineers in a cleanroom, high precision environment based on procedures for (un-)scheduled and predictive maintenance including continuous improvement programs (CIPs) \n\n\n * Use digital diagnostic tools to solve real technical problems by machine data based predictive maintenance approaches (including AI) \n\n\n * Support customer operations and ensure a high-quality equipment performance with a zero-defect culture and high consciousness for employee safety and product quality \n\n\n * Build deep technical skills through structured, hands-on learning on highly specialised Applied Materials equipment applications \n\n\n\nGlobal Training Experience\n\nYou\u2019ll participate in an immersive training program at our state-of-the-art facility in one of our global training centers (Asia or the US), where you\u2019ll gain: \n\n * Strong foundations in semiconductor equipment \n\n\n * Step by step technical training \n\n\n * Experience working in a highly structured, process driven environment \n\n\n * International exposure and cross-cultural teamwork \n\n\n\nAll travel and accommodation are fully supported. \n\nWe are looking for you: \n\n * You hold, or are on track to complete (in 2026), a relevant bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree\n * Basic mechanical aptitude of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics \n * Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges \n * Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters \n * Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics \n * Familiarity with hand tools and their appropriate usage, including digital multimeters \n * Effective written and verbal communication skills \n * Clear communication skills and the ability to follow structured procedures \n * Willingness to travel internationally and work in a cleanroom environment \n * Be flexible to work both day and night shifts \n\n\n\nYour mindset is important: \n\n * Team player with strong interpersonal skills and a building trust nature.\n * Exercise judgement based on data analysis of multiple sources of information like plant documentations, schematics, and hardware data.\n * Find solutions with different tools to get the machine running again.\n * Explain difficult or sensitive information and works to build consensus.\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\n * Various physical movements such as bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, and extended walking and standing \n * Ability to distinguish between colors \n * Ability to operate hand and power tools \n * Ability to work in confined spaces \n * Ability to work in a noise-prone environment (with consideration for noise sensitivity) \n * Wear personal protective equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields, particularly in clean room settings \n * Flexibility for rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by customer needs \n\n\n\n## Qualifications\n\n### Education:\n\nAssociate\u0027s Degree (Required), Bachelor\u0027s Degree (Required)\n\n### Skills\n\n### Certifications:\n\n### Languages:\n\n### Years of Experience:\n\n1 - 2 Years\n\n### Work Experience:\n\n## Additional Information\n\n### \n\n### Shift:\n\nOvertime Eligible (Ireland)\n\n### \n\n### Travel:\n\nYes, 20% of the Time\n\n### \n\n### Relocation Eligible:\n\nNo\n\n### Referral Payment Plan:\n\nNone\n\nApplied Materials is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
