Financial Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant/ Manager to join our team in Longford.

As the Financial accountant you will be responsible for managing a range of activities from preparation of the monthly Financial Statements of the site to supporting on a range of business projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the month-end closing process, which includes crafting journal entries, determining accruals, and managing the General Ledger.
• Act as the Senior Finance representative for the site.
• Develop the Monthly Reporting Pack, encompassing the P&L and Balance Sheet, alongside scheduling for Fixed Assets, Capex, and Amortization.
• Handle the preparation of Prepayments and Accruals, as well as manage Intercompany Debtors Reconciliation and sign-off.
• Conduct Bank Account Reconciliations, including those for Livestock and Debtors, while preparing General Ledger reconciliations.
• Perform General Ledger spend analysis and serve as the primary contact for external financial and tax auditors.
• Prepare VAT, VIES, and Intrastat Returns.
• Assist in divisional analysis of Variable and Fixed costs, and support the budgeting process.

• Part Qualified/Qualified Accountant with minumum 4+ years post qualification experience ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of monthly reconciliations and identifying opportunities for development within existing control procedures
• High awareness of current technical accounting and reporting requirements
• Strong technical ability with financial analysis and reporting skills
• Computer literate with good Excel skills with solid understanding of accounting software principles
