Job Description - Financial Accountant- Maternity Contract


Opportunity for a Financial Accountant to join the internal finance team at a leading Corporate Services Company at either our Dublin or Ennis, Co. Clare. office. This is a maternity cover with a contract of 9/12 months.

  • Ensuring the maintenance of Company’s and its subsidiaries accounting records on a real-time basis 
  • Supporting company management decision making processes by providing timely and accurate financial data
  • Monitoring work of junior team members
  • Assisting in preparation of monthly management accounts in an accurate and timely manner 
  • Maintenance of supporting schedules to the accounts, including deferred income, prepayments and accruals schedules
  • Manage client billing cycles (monthly/quarterly/annually)
  • Responding to client queries in relation to client billings
  • Reconciliation of the balance sheet accounts and ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation
  • Inter-company account reconciliations
  • Control and monitoring of client monies account, to ensure that client monies received are identified and dispersed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Managing the Company’s auditors to ensure completion of the Company’s and relevant subsidiaries audits within agreed timeframes
  • Performing day to day accounting functions, including journal postings and A/P, A/R management as required Managing junior team members in relation to day-to-day tasks
  • Payments management
  • Preparation of VAT returns 
  • Production of reports on request from management and client account teams, e.g. WIP reports, client statements of account etc
  • Collaboration with Company’s operations team to build out management information reports
  • Miscellaneous projects / tasks set down by the Company’s management as required
In addition to high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:    
  • ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA (or equivalent) qualified accountant. 
  • Experience in month-end reporting & strong working knowledge of finance systems 
  • Experience in implementing internal policies and procedures while complying with external policies such as regulatory and accounting practices.
  • Experience working in a professional services firm would be an advantage
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work on own initiative within the framework of an overall teams
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Sound problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines is a must 
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
