FP&A Junior Analyst (12-month FTC)

Based in Dublin reporting to the FP&A Manager, this role will support the Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are keen on a business facing or commercial finance career within a growing multi-national (re)insurance operation with a strong presence in Dublin.

We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual; keen to learn about business and acquire a broad range of analytical and interpersonal skills.

What you will do

• Ongoing analysis of the Hamilton financial results:
  
  
  
  • Assist in monitoring performance; highlighting trends and analysing causes of unexpected variances
  
  
  • Completion of the quarterly financial results presentation and analytics providing insight to senior management on variances to plan.

  • Reconcile General Ledger (SUN) & Management reporting tool (TM1)
  
  
  
  

• Annual Planning and Ongoing Forecasting:
  
  
  
  • Contribute to the completion of the annual budget cycle and the ongoing incremental forecasting process
  
  
  • Liaise with management, underwriting and support teams to assist setting annual budgets
  
  
  
  

• Provide support to the FP&A team, cost centre owners and management for ad-hoc projects, tasks and analysis

• Assist in continuous improvement of the FP&A function and preparing process documentation

What you require for the role 

• A numerate individual with a relevant university degree seeking to obtain a professionally recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)


• Excellent attention to detail


• Proven ability to work to deadlines


• A motivated self-starter


• Team player but able to work towards individual targets


• Articulate with good verbal and written communication skills


• Proficient Microsoft Office – in particular, Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint


• Prior experience with SUN/TM1(IBM Planning Analytics)/Power BI is desirable but not essential
