Job Description - Global Mobility & Tax Specialist

Description

Winthrop Technologies is Europe’s dedicated data centre delivery partner, providing full turnkey solutions from design through to construction and commissioning. Headquartered in Dublin, we deliver projects across Europe and are a trusted name within our sector.

We are seeking a Global Mobility Specialist to join our growing team. This is a newly created role reflecting the continued international expansion of the business across Europe. The successful candidate will be part of the finance & tax team acting as the primary liaison with Operations Directors across multiple European sites.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Director & Tax Manager in managing global assignments, ensuring compliant and efficient mobility processes for employees relocating across jurisdictions. This role will have a strong focus on Global Mobility employment tax matters, and cross-border compliance.



Requirements

To be successful in this position, you must have proven experience in Global Mobility and Employment Tax, along with a strong understanding of cross-border taxation, payroll withholding, and compliance requirements, including tax equalisation and personal tax obligations. You will bring excellent organisational and analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in calculations, as well as the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and business functions.

Key Responsibilities

Global Mobility Programme Management

  • Manage end-to-end global mobility processes for employees relocating across Europe, including pre-assignment planning, cost projection, documentation, working closely with payroll, tax, finance and other stakeholders
  • Coordinate international assignments, including short-term, long-term, and permanent relocations. This will also include the tracking and management of employees who frequently travel for business
  • Act as the primary point of contact for mobile employee, HR, and key stakeholders

Employment Tax & Compliance

  • Support the Finance Director in overseeing expatriate tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions
  • Liaise with external tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely tax filings and obtaining foreign tax advice where required
  • Manage tax equalisation arrangements, gross-ups, social security and validate cost projections.
  • Ensure adherence to local employment tax regulations

Compensation & Benefit Advisory

  • Assist in designing and administering expatriate compensation packages
  • Work closely with HR and our in-house payroll team to ensure accurate processing of international compensation and benefits
  • Conduct benchmarking, salary simulations and cost projections for international assignments
  • Manage benefits, including allowances and relocation packages

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Operations Directors to ensure the business needs align with Global Mobility compliance and ensure Employment Tax compliance across all international construction
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on mobility policies and procedures
  • Build strong relationships with external vendors including relocation and tax service providers

Policy & Process Development

  • Support the development and implementation of global mobility policies and frameworks
  • Interpret and apply mobility policies, handle complex or unique cases, act as an escalation point for policy guidance, and recommend improvements
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting relating to global mobility activity
