Job Description - Group Accounts Assistant

We’re currently looking for a Group Accounts Assistant to join our busy Finance Department.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Process supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accuracy and appropriate matching to purchase orders

  • Support supplier payment runs and maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records

  • Raise customer invoices and assist with billing across multiple entities

  • Monitor accounts receivable, following up on outstanding balances to support timely collections

  • Reconcile supplier and customer accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded

  • Support cash flow monitoring by tracking payments, receipts, and upcoming obligations

  • Maintain accurate financial records through timely data entry and proper documentation

  • Assist with month-end processes, including reconciliations, reporting, and analysis

  • Regularly generate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable aging reports and provide actionable updates.

  • Respond promptly to customer queries and resolve billing discrepancies in collaboration with internal teams.

  • Manage and reconcile company credit card transactions, ensuring appropriate coding and support

  • Assist with sustainability initiatives and related reporting activities



General Support and Administration:



  • Maintain books and records in compliance with IFRS Accounting standards and company requirements to ensure a smooth audit if required.

  • Support the Finance Team with ad-hoc research, reporting, and administrative tasks as required.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiency.



What We’re Looking For


Qualifications & Experience



  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with interest in developing towards a professional qualification (e.g. ACA or ACCA) (preferred but not essential).

  • 2+ years of experience in a finance or accounts role.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AccountsIQ or similar) and Excel

  • Knowledge of accounting principles and experience working in a fast-paced finance team

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and integration of accounting with other platforms.



Personal Specification:



  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with large volumes of data.

  • Analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify trends or discrepancies

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a busy finance environment.



  • Preference for teamwork and collaboration


 


Location
The role is Dublin based, we do offer a hybrid working environment, following the completion of the probationary period.
