Job Description - Head of Community, Innovation & Enterprise
ALONE support older people to age at home. We provide direct, frontline services to people aged 60 and over, through support coordination, support and befriending, housing with support, and the application of assistive technology. We have a network of staff and more than 3,000 volunteers across the country We have been awarded Quality Marks from Volunteer Ireland, the ISO, the Charities Regulator and the Housing Regulatory Standard.
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Community, Innovation & Enterprise. This position will be based in our Head office in Dublin 8, reporting to our CEO.

Responsibilities
Strategic:
Responsible for the delivery of ALONE’s departmental Strategic Goals and contribute to the overall strategic development and governance of the Organisation.
As part of the Leadership Team, contribute and take responsibility for the overall development and governance of the organisation.
Lead strategic solutions for the organisations partnerships.
Developing ALONE’s network based on current and future needs
Innovation:
Proactively support Services in identifying innovations that can be scaled internally and externally
Continuously improve on previous` business innovations to ensure continued success in industry leading innovation
Actively seek out and develop new innovative solutions that will allow more Older People to live at home for longer
Develop ‘Housing with Support’ to create social enterprise and develop a path for other innovations to follow
Collaborate with other departments such as Research, Communications and Services to ensure that corrective actions from previous Innovative activity are captured.
Use data and technology to maximise our input
Community & Enterprise:
Drive the Community Impact Network a collaborative network that supports organisations working with older people across Ireland.
Oversee all community relations activity.
Represent ALONE in relevant appropriate forums as assigned by the CEO.
Promote social enterprise and establish avenues for the AONE to achieve sustainability, enabling a greater emphasis on service delivery.
Actively seek out and pilot new solutions in housing, care and technology that will advance this space.
Essential skills & experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
5 years’ experience in senior position leading successful teams
Project Management experience is a distinct advantage.
Strong understanding and ability to deliver strategic goals.
Extensive management experience in a cognate field and will have a strong demonstrable record in partnership implementation, managing change in a community environment influencing across relevant parts of the government, NGOs and private sectors.
Passionate about ALONE’s vision and mission and will be comfortable in a fast-paced, growing organisation whose focus is on improving the lives of our service users.
Demonstration of a commitment to continuous and ongoing learning and development.
Specialist knowledge in fields such as the deployment of assistive technology, innovation in housing and social care, community development, social enterprise a distinct advantage

Salary DOE
Full-time, 35-hour work-week
