Job Description - Head of Residential

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Sherry FitzGerald, the Head of Residential will implement and lead the long-term strategy for the Residential business, embracing transformation and harnessing our talent to achieve the next phase of business growth and success. The Head of Residential will work closely with the Residential Management Team to deliver the strategic vision, advancing outcomes through market research, technology, planning and execution.



As a member of the Group Leadership Team (GLT), they will work closely with the C-suite (CEO, CFO) and the wider GLT team in the development and delivery of Sherry FitzGerald’s strategic vision and culture while managing key relationships and maintaining a strong culture of collaboration, customer focus and supporting the company’s overall strategy and targets.



The key areas of responsibility for this role are outlined below:


 


Residential Business 



  • Lead and execute the Residential business strategy plan driving revenue growth, market expansion and strategic direction.

  • Oversee budgets, P&L, financial performance and KPI’ to ensure long-term profitability. 

  • Communicate the Residential vision and lead the business through dynamic market conditions, pre-empting trends and potential impacts to sales performance.



  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient planning, data analyses, financial control and meeting performance standards.

  • Ability to make critical decisions on resource allocation, strategic planning and operational improvements while managing key relationships with stakeholders, clients and strategic partnerships.

  • Support business winning for the company, improving the depth and quality of the fee base, whilst proactively managing client relationships and business development activities.

  • Foster strong working relationships with the Residential team and wider Group businesses to identify and maximise synergies and business development opportunities.

  • Champion a client-focused approach and attitude across internal and external teams fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.



Leadership 



  • Build alignment and commitment across the Residential team, focusing everyone on delivering the business strategy & KPIs in line with budget.

  • Coach, motivate and empower the Residential team to optimise sales, drive efficiencies and provide an excellent customer experience, through positive team culture and attitude.

  • Responsible for leading, motivating, building and developing a high performing team, identifying talent for future succession while navigating change.

  • Monitor and evaluate the team’s performance providing regular feedback, coaching and recognition to drive individual and team excellence.

  • Retain and develop employees, leveraging strengths, empowering and supporting your team through effective communication, motivation, recognition and professional and personal development.

  • Role-model and develop a team culture where everyone demonstrates our Company Values and are encouraged to share feedback and learnings through open and transparent communications

  • Work collaboratively with members of the Group Leadership Team (GLT) to develop and execute the Group’s business strategy, ensuring synergies and referrals are optimised across the Group.

  • Prepare and present regular Group Board papers providing in dept knowledge on service performance, key metrics and market analysis.

  • Embrace new technologies and lead change initiatives, removing barriers to the implementation of change, ensuring performance improvements are realised.

  • Keep updated and on relevant market trends and influences to identify opportunities and practices which will enhance the Sherry FitzGerald offering, infrastructure and effectiveness, and benefit customers, employees and shareholders.



Skills and Qualifications 



  • 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles, ideally in the professional services industry or similar.

  • Proven experience in strategic planning, business development, and organisational management.

  • Proven record of achieving service-related KPIs and customer satisfaction targets.

  • Exceptional business leader with strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to handle complex challenges and responsibilities.

  • Strong financial acumen with a proven ability to manage budgets and drive profitability.

  • Proactive collaborator with capacity to build and engage internal and external connections and relationships to support business objectives and outcomes.

  • Committed to coaching and developing our people for professional and personal success, by fostering exceptional attitude, energy, ambition, collaboration and support within teams.

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with multifunctional teams and stakeholders at all levels.

  • A track record of successful organisational growth and profitability.

  • In depth knowledge of the property industry desirable but not essential.
