Job Description - HR Advisor - Ireland

Americold
is a global provider of temperature -controlled infrastructure. We partner with
farmers and food producers to ensure their perishable and frozen products reach
food suppliers, restaurants, and your local grocery store without spoilage. Our
customers, which include some of the most respected brands in the food
industry, rely on our expertise and commitment to safety to deliver on their
commitments.

HR Advisor – Ireland

We
are looking for an experienced HR Advisor to provide hands -on, practical HR
support to our Irish operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys
being close to the business, supporting managers day -to -day, and applying HR
best practice in a fair, consistent, and people -focused way.

Reporting
to the Country HR Manager, you will act as a trusted HR point of contact for
managers and employees, ensuring policies are applied correctly, employment
matters are handled properly, and HR processes run smoothly.

This
is a steady, operational HR role suited to someone who values doing HR well,
building strong working relationships, and contributing to a stable and
well -run workplace.


Key
responsibilities

Employee
Relations & Case Support

  • Act
    as the first point of contact for managers and employees on HR policies,
    procedures, and Irish employment legislation.

  • Provide
    practical guidance and support through disciplinary, grievance, absence, and
    performance management processes.

  • Ensure
    employee relations matters are handled fairly, consistently, and in line with
    company policy and legal requirements.

  • Prepare
    letters, meeting notes, and case documentation, ensuring records are accurate
    and complete.


Absence
& Occupational Health

  • Monitor
    sickness absence and support managers with return -to -work conversations and
    long -term absence cases.

  • Coordinate
    Occupational Health referrals, appointments, and follow -up actions.

  • Work
    with managers to encourage attendance, employee wellbeing, and reasonable
    adjustments where required.


HR
Administration, Data & Reporting

  • Produce
    regular HR reports including absence and turnover data.

  • Maintain
    accurate HR records and ensure data is kept up to date.

  • Highlight
    trends or recurring issues to the HR Manager with practical suggestions where
    appropriate.


Policy
& Compliance

  • Apply
    HR policies consistently across the site(s).

  • Stay
    informed on Irish employment legislation and flag changes that may impact the
    business.

  • Support
    updates to policies and procedures when required.

     

General
HR & Operational Support

  • Support
    payroll -related administration when required.

  • Assist
    with HR projects and ongoing process improvements.

  • Work
    closely with operations and the wider HR team to provide reliable, responsive
    HR support.


About
you

This
role will suit someone who:

  • Has
    solid HR advisory experience and enjoys working in an operational,
    people -facing role.

  • Is
    practical, calm, and approachable, with a common -sense approach to HR.

  • Is
    comfortable handling employee relations casework from start to finish.

  • Values
    stability, consistency, and good working relationships over rapid career
    progression.

  • Is
    confident working independently while knowing when to escalate issues.

     

Experience
& qualifications

  • CIPD
    Level 3 qualified (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience
    in an HR Advisor or HR Generalist role.

  • Good
    working knowledge of Irish employment law.

  • Experience
    supporting disciplinary, grievance, performance, and absence processes.

  • Strong
    organisational skills and attention to detail.
