Job Description - HR Business Partner

Work with business leaders and leadership team on an operational basis providing advice in all areas of HR with a focus on the operational delivery of the HR requirements, and delivering activity as detailed in the annual Organisational and People Plans within Engine.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Acts as an HR manager driving the completion of HR activity for the business unit(s).
  • Works closely with line managers to provide HR advice and expertise in the execution of HR policies and processes. 
  • Supports line managers with effective resource management in the business unit, including mobilisation and demobilisation across Ireland and Europe.
  • Collaborates closely with the Talent Attraction team to facilitate effective recruitment for the business unit, supporting global mobility and growth aspirations across Europe. 
  • Provides sound expertise and executes HR activity on performance management, employee relations, engagement and retention.
  • Provides legally compliant HR advice across several European countries including Ireland, Greece, and France, working in collaboration with the employee relations teams and external solicitors as required.
  • Works proactively with the HR Services and Payroll teams to ensure that transactional and operational activities are carried out efficiently and that HR processes are fit for purpose. 
  • Works closely with the Reward team, to support the facilitation of the annual reward review and alignment to the career framework for your business unit. 
  • Collaborates with the business unit to support career growth for employees through effective talent management and development, working closely with the Talent, Development & Inclusion team.
  • Supports the business with effective engagement & retention plans, aligned to the Company's purpose, values, and behaviours.
  • Partners with the business unit to enable effective onboarding for all new joiners.
  • Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

  • You’ll need to have:

  • Proficient knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and experience in managing employee relations cases.
  • You have an HR/Business/Legal degree or equivalent with previous experience as an HR Manager in a generalist role or in a similar HR SME area.
  • Good stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Sound knowledge of Irish working practices, HR and Employment Law.
  • You’ll also have:

  • Project Management skills/experience
  • Demonstratable track record in change management and organisational development skills
  • Commercial awareness & business acumen
  • Use of Human Capital Management system
  • Working towards CIPD membership
  • Experience of developing and forming relationships 
  • Experience in providing HR advice and global mobility support across diverse European locations
