Summary of Position

We're looking for a dedicated and experienced Industrial Electrician to perform general maintenance duties in a warehouse / distribution center. Must have electrical experience wiring 480v 3ph contactors and transformers. Additional duties include, but are not limited to mechanical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and preventative maintenance activities. 

Responsibilities

• Lead (with minimal direction from Maintenance Supervisor) wiring projects that include: adding lighting, outlets, transformers, contactors, etc with 24v-480v power.


• Lead troubleshooting for all electrical issues


• Make conveyor repairs such as belt repair, motor replacement, bearing replacement, etc.


• Perform routine maintenance - oiling, greasing, adjustments, etc


• Building repairs - racking repairs, concrete repairs, misc. fixtures, etc


• Complete assigned projects - lighting installs, equipment installs, construction, tear outs, etc.


• Work as a team to carry out tasks requiring more than one person


• Learn operation of sorter and overall conveyor system


• Plumbing work, including drain issues and stopped up toilets


• Operate various equipment - sitdown lifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, scissor lift, man lift, battery station, etc.


• Other misc. tasks as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

• General maintenance knowledge that provides the skills needed to replace motors, bearings, drive components, hydraulic systems, etc


• Basic construction and plumbing knowledge


• Willingness to learn and gain new skills


• HVAC knowledge is a plus


• Electrical experience is required


• Ability to work independently or with others when needed


• Self-motivated

Required Experience and Education

• High school diploma or GED equivalent


• 3+yrs preferred experience in a maintenance function, preferably in a Distribution or Industrial Environment


• Experience with Industrial Wiring(contactors, transformers, relays, etc)


• Dependable transportation


• Solid means of contact (cell phone or home phone)


• Normal shift is either 7a-3:45p M-F or 9:15a-6p M-F


• Willing to work overtime as needed (sometimes on short notice)


• Occasional weekend work as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• This position requires heavy lifting at times. The ability to work in certain unusual positions may be required at times - overhead, lying down, or under equipment.  The position requires climbing stairs and working in confined spaces at times.  

• Perry Ellis offers a relatively mild environment in that the facility is heated/cooled and most general areas are cleaner than many other industries. However, from time to time exterior work is necessary and you’ll be exposed to outdoor environments.
