About the Role

LS Professional Placements is recruiting on behalf of a well-established dairy and food production operation in West Cork for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrician seeking a varied role within Ireland's thriving agri-food sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of electrical systems across both farm operations and food production facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative and reactive electrical maintenance across the site.


• Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise operational downtime.


• Maintain and repair dairy processing equipment, pumps, motors, control panels, refrigeration systems, lighting, ventilation, and automated farm systems.


• Conduct routine inspections and ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely.


• Assist with the installation, commissioning, and testing of new machinery and plant equipment.


• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations and industry standards.


• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report issues to management.


• Work closely with operations and production teams to support day-to-day activities.


• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

• Trade-qualified Electrician (Level 6 or equivalent).


• Strong experience in electrical maintenance and fault finding.


• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.


• Full clean driving licence.


• Strong understanding of electrical systems, controls, and maintenance procedures.


• Good communication and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.


• Good level of spoken and written English.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience within dairy, food production, manufacturing, or agricultural environments.


• Knowledge of automated systems and PLC controls.


• Basic mechanical maintenance experience.


• Experience with refrigeration, cooling, or process equipment.
