IT Programme Manager (Offshore)

We are the people behind Ireland’s electricity grid. We operate the power system with world leading levels of variable asynchronous renewable generation, ensuring that everyone has power when they need it. But that’s not all, we are now transforming the power system for future generations.  The Government of Ireland targets at least 5 GW of grid connected offshore wind to be delivered by 2030 and Ireland’s offshore wind targets will increase to 20 GW by 2040 and at least 37 GW by 2050. As part of Shaping Our Offshore Energy Future plan, EirGrid plans to develop offshore electricity substations and associated undersea electricity cables. This new infrastructure will bring the power generated by offshore windfarms into our national grid. All offshore grid infrastructure delivered as part of achieving the target of 5 GW by 2030 will be operated and maintained by EirGrid. Job Purpose This is a unique opportunity to further your career in IT while playing a significant role in delivering EirGrid Group’s IT transformation. We are seeking an experienced IT Programme Manager to lead and deliver the IT solutions required to meet our offshore wind targets. You will lead a dynamic team of IT professionals within the IT Portfolio & Business Engagement function to ensure best practice Programme Delivery to deploy a large portfolio of Offshore IT projects. The Offshore IT Programme is a significant programme of work to deliver the procurement, deployment and support of a myriad of IT solutions over the programme’s lifetime including but not limited to Information Management, Asset Management, Health & Safety, GIS, Operations & Monitoring and Digital Twin solutions in addition to ensuring existing Corporate Enterprise Solutions are provisioned by external parties and effectively integrated with the core offshore systems. As the Offshore Programme Manager, you will oversee multiple offshore projects and the ability to collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation to shape, prioritise and ensure integrated readiness for delivering the programme. Key Responsibilities

• Overall Programme management for the deployment of new core offshore systems, the delivery of enabling IT including Cloud, Data and Integrations platforms and for ensuring existing Corporate Enterprise Solutions are provisioned by external parties and effectively integrated
• Act as the primary interface for business engagement for Offshore IT, accountable for the strength of business relationships and influencing all stakeholders to ensure delivery of the desired outcomes
• Partner with Procurement and the senior management team to develop the overall procurement strategy including the ongoing support and operating model
• Oversee the procurement of IT systems and solutions, ensuring that arrangements meet current and future business needs
• Establishing and ensuring appropriate governance functions for the programme in accordance with EirGrid policies and practices
• Report, communicate and update relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organisation on the project delivery
• Lead a team of project managers and IT professionals to plan the activities associated with the delivery of the Offshore IT Programme aligning and time the programme with the business needs
• Other duties as required.

• A relevant degree, typically with 8+ years post qualification experience
• Strong experience and knowledge of IT solutions and IT solution delivery
• Proven experience of structuring, executing and delivery of a programme of change projects – overseeing the delivery of complex solutions and an ability to drive successful outcomes.
• Experience applying project management methodologies and disciplines for a programme or multiple projects
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the programme objectives, inspire and motivate staff, and maintain alignment with the business strategy
• A high degree of awareness, astuteness and the ability to influence to achieve programme success and overcome obstacles
• Expertise in conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions, or new ways of doing things to solve business problems, collaborating with business experts along the way.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain and “sell” the programme goals and objectives to the business, as well as technical leadership
• Excellent analytical, strategic planning and execution skills
• Ability to develop programmes and deliver them with financial and resource constraints.
• Ability to coach and develop high performance capabilities in a changing and dynamic environment.
