Job Description - IT Support Engineer

Our Client has a requirement for a 2^nd Level IT Support Engineer to assist in support a growing business in Tipperary and Limerick. In this position you will have responsibility responsible for handling escalated technical issues, troubleshooting complex problems, and ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. You will work closely with 1^st level support engineers, system administrators, and network engineers to provide second-level support, resolve incidents, and implement improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Troubleshoot and resolve escalated infrastructure issues related to servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments.

Provide technical support for Windows, 0365, and End-user issues).

Perform system monitoring, health checks, and proactive maintenance to ensure uptime and performance.

Provide L2 support to customers stores and main site

Work with security teams to apply patches, updates, and hardening measures to ensure compliance with industry best practices.

Document incidents, resolutions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for knowledge sharing and training.

Support disaster recovery planning, backup strategies, and failover testing.

Collaborate with vendors and service providers for troubleshooting and infrastructure improvements.

Provide mentorship and guidance to L1 support engineers to enhance their technical skills.

Required Skills & Experience:

3-5 years of experience in IT infrastructure support or a similar role.

Strong expertise in Windows, MS 365, Endpoint Support, and Troubleshooting.

Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM).

Hands-on experience with networking technologies (firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, TCP/IP troubleshooting).

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical

A full Irish driving licence is required for this position.
