Tigers Childcare requires an experienced qualified professional creche kitchen cook to work in our busy kitchen in Pembroke Wood, Cork.
Knowledge of HACCP; food preparation; allergies and allergens; health and safety rules in the kitchen are completely essential. This position will involve liaising with the manager and creche staff keeping abreast of children's dietary requirements.
Start date: ASAP (subject to Garda vetting & reference checks)
Rate of Pay: €13.00
Hours: 35 hours per week (9.00am - 4.00pm Monday - Friday)
Contract: Permanent full time
Roles and Responsibilities of Creche Kitchen Cook:
- Keep kitchen equipment, tools, and practices sanitary; be responsible for cleaning the kitchen. You would follow strict hygiene, health and safety rules and maintain records for same. You must be impeccably clean all the time.
- To take day-to-day responsibility for the provision of meals and snacks for the children in the centre.
- Follow HACCP Safe Catering Guide and procedures.
- Document and complete the relevant records according to the Safe catering Guide. This will include, but not limited to, food delivery records, refrigeration records, cooking/cooling/reheating records, hygiene inspection checklist, hygiene training records, transport & delivery records.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly checklists as required.
- Sorting, storing and distributing ingredients.
- Preparing food items as needed.
- Follow the policies & procedures of the service at all times.
- Cleaning, tidying and storage of equipment after use.
- Disposing of rubbish.
- Perform daily, weekly and monthly deep clean of equipment as per checklists.
- Perform daily cleaning duties as determined by your manager.
Candidate Requirements:
- Be a qualified professional with kitchen experience.
- Must have HACCP training and be familiar with HACCP procedures.
- Be able to provide Police Clearance from jurisdictions outside of Ireland (if applicable).
- Provide 2 x written references from previous employers
- Have details submitted for Garda vetting.
- Good communications - fluency in both written & spoken English is essential.
