Lead Data Governance Specialist (Microsoft Purview) - contract

We're hiring a Senior Data Governance Specialist as part of a large digital transformation project in the public sector. In this role, you’ll develop and implement governance policies, configure Microsoft Purview for data cataloging, lineage tracking, and compliance, and integrate Purview with key systems. You’ll create governance frameworks, training materials, and validation procedures to ensure data quality and regulatory compliance across the organisation. This is a hybrid role with an expectation of 3 days per week on site in Dublin, Ireland.

• Develops governance policies for all Critical Data Elements (including new ones) and configures Microsoft Purview for data cataloguing, lineage tracking, and compliance.
• Supports the Data Architect in CDE sign-off by ensuring governance alignment (e.g., compliance with GDPR, CCPA) resulting in : Data governance policy document Purview configuration guide, and data quality validation procedures.
• Configures Purview integration with Cloud CRM and SQL Server, resulting in Purview integration guide for connectivity and lineage tracking.
• Configures a Purview sandbox for learning an governance practice. resulting in a Purview test environment setup guide.
• Advises and provide knowledge transfer to the Data team on using Purview for data discovery, classification, and compliance – resulting in Training materials (guides, videos, slides), quick-reference guide, and training session delivery report.
• Ensures governance compliance in migration and iPaaS test cases resulting in : Governance validation procedures.
• Documentation of collaboration with the technical team regarding skills transfer and knowledge sharing verification regarding new technology setup and configuration

• Equivalent of 7+ years of extensive professional experience in a data governance role. Experience should include designing, planning and establishing data governance practices in medium to large organisations.
• Microsoft Purview in SaaS CRM platform deployments.
