Working as part of the Engineering and Major Projects team responsible for leading the engineering input during project execution stage, managing overhaul projects on existing Power Plant sites.
The role will involve supporting the overhaul project team to deliver the project(s) safely, on schedule, on budget and to the required quality
Responsibilities:
· Work with the Safety Adviser and other project team members to ensure that all works undertaken during the project are executed in accordance with statutory safety, health and environmental regulations
· Management of Main LTSA Contract and other contracts / work scopes as assigned by the Project Manager
· Liaise with various Engineering & Major Projects specialist teams to successfully deliver overhaul in line with defined protocols and procedures.
· Grouping of work packages, development of technical specifications, tendering and contractor selection for work packages in his/her areas of responsibility
· Support the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans for the Mechanical aspects of the unit, in conjunction with the appropriate Competent Person / Asset Management Specialist
· Management of quality in accordance with responsibilities listed in the Project Quality Plan.
· Day to day supervision and point of contact with contractors and their works
· Work with and support the station Management and Maintenance Teams during the course of the project.
· Undertake regular safety, environment and quality audits during the overhaul.
· Reporting on progress against schedule and attendance at various project meetings as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager
· Work with the Project Manager to control costs for assigned contracts.
· Management of special tooling requirements with the principle Contractor.
· Development of technical specifications for work scopes on Mechanical plant and equipment and involvement in various stages of tendering and procurement process
· Use of plant modification process for all plant modifications. Ensure all procedures and drawings are updated.
· Attendance at Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), workshop visits, if required.
· Creation of Mechanical Close-Out Report.
Requirements:
· Relevant 3rd Level Degree
· Experience in the overhaul of CCGT power plant
· Experience of planning major power station overhauls – including logistics, procurement, specifications development and contractor management
· Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
