A fantastic opportunity to be part of a leading global security products and solutions company. The Logistics & Purchasing Specialist will be part of the Supply Chain Management team responsible for managing the purchasing and delivery of our Visitor hardware and consumable products to our global customers.
The person will place the required purchase orders with suppliers in line with customer needs. They will be the interface with suppliers and logistic partners to provide all shipping documents to ensure successful delivery. Project management for global roll outs will be a primary responsibility.
They will have strong knowledge of international shipping methods and experience in import/export management, including regulatory assessment and provision of required documentation.
The position will involve designing and improving the end to end supply chain flows, and selecting the right partners, to ensure seamless delivery of product to customers.
Include the following, but are not limited to:
- Project management of global customer roll outs for Visitor hardware and consumables: co-ordination between customers, sales, suppliers and logistics provider
- Management of each customer order to delivery
- Manage ad hoc shipments to and from the company/supplier/customer
- Enter customer orders into SAP
- Create purchase orders in SAP to suppliers in line with customer and stockholding requirements
- Communicate kitting requirements to supplier
- Know and prepare the export and import requirements for each shipment in advance of shipping, co-ordinating with customer and brokers as needed
- Create the required shipping paperwork for each shipment, including compliance documentation
- Co-ordinate with the logistics provider on the shipping arrangements
- Communicate shipping schedule and updates to customers
- Track and resolve any shipping/export/import issues to ensure successful delivery to customers
- Drive cost reductions with suppliers and achieve lowest landed cost for shipments
- Resolve invoice queries
- Report on order and delivery status
