Machine Spray Painter

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare agricultural machinery, tractors and equipment for spray painting, including surface cleaning, sanding, masking and preparation.

• Apply primers, undercoats and finishing paints using appropriate spray painting equipment and techniques.

• Select and mix paints, coatings and materials in accordance with manufacturer specifications and job requirements.

• Inspect painted surfaces to ensure consistent coverage, finish quality and durability.

• Identify surface imperfections and carry out necessary corrections, repairs and touch-ups.

• Maintain and clean spray guns, painting equipment and associated tools.

• Follow appropriate procedures for paint application, drying, curing and finishing.

• Comply with health and safety procedures, including the safe handling and storage of paints, solvents and other materials.

• Carry out machinery cleaning, including jet washing, where required as part of the preparation process.

• Maintain an organised workshop and assist with general housekeeping duties.

• Travel to other company depots when required to undertake spray painting and related duties.

Skills and Experience Required

• Previous experience in machinery, vehicle or industrial spray painting.

• Practical knowledge of surface preparation, primers, coatings and paint

application techniques.

• Experience using professional spray painting equipment and associated tools.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to achieve a high-quality finish.

• Knowledge of paint products and safe handling procedures.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Flexibility to travel between company depots when required.
