Maintenance Technician — GMP Manufacturing — Longford — Shift

We're hiring on behalf of a leading multinational medical devices and pharmaceutical manufacturer with a significant and long-established operation in Co. Longford.

The role: You'll join an experienced maintenance team in a fast-paced GMP shift environment, taking full responsibility for the availability and performance of Filling, Labelling and Packaging equipment. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who takes pride in keeping complex production equipment running — and who understands that in a regulated manufacturing environment, paperwork and compliance are as important as the spanner work.

What you'll actually be doing:

Performing maintenance across Mechanical, Electrical and Pneumatic systems on production and packaging equipment

Monitoring and working with PLC control systems — Allen Bradley and Siemens

Taking responsibility for facilities and utilities systems — Boilers, HVAC, Coolers, Ultra-low Freezers and associated infrastructure

Completing planned preventative maintenance schedules on time, every time

Responding to reactive breakdowns efficiently and getting equipment back up without cutting corners

Maintaining accurate maintenance records and paperwork to full GMP and audit standards

Using Maximo CMMS in line with site expectations and reporting requirements

What we need:

✅ Trade qualified or degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline

✅ 3+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment — ideally pharmaceutical, medical devices or food

✅ Hands-on PLC experience — Allen Bradley and/or Siemens

✅ Working knowledge of QMS processes and GMP documentation standards

✅ Experience with facilities and utilities systems — Boilers, HVAC or similar

✅ Someone who understands that in a regulated environment, the paperwork is part of the job — not an afterthought

Nice to have:

⭐ Experience with Maximo or equivalent CMMS

⭐ Previous experience in a Filling, Labelling or Packaging environment

⭐ Familiarity with ultra-low temperature storage systems

The reality of the role: This is shift-based maintenance in a GMP environment where equipment availability directly impacts production output. If you want a role where you can cut corners on documentation or escalate every problem upward, this isn't it. If you want to work with a strong technical team on complex production systems in a world-class manufacturing facility — it is.
