Mechanical Design Engineer

Our client, a leading Engineering company in Cork, is seeking an Experienced Mechanical Designer required to develop tooling and equipment for an implantable medical device. The role will be based at the premises of a client located in a world class manufacturing facility in County Tipperary.

Please note: This is a 24 month fixed term contract with possibility of extension

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:

• Design and develop mechanical assembly processes, ensuring they meet the required specifications and quality standards.

• Utilize CAD software and other design tools to create 3D models and detailed technical drawings.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful design integration.

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise and recommendations.

• Liaise with equipment manufacturers, vendors and suppliers to ensure on time delivery.

• 3+ years industry experience.

• Proven experience in the mechanical design of fixtures, tooling, or automation, and the development of processes ideally within a medical device manufacturing environment.

• Proficiency in CAD software (preferably Solidworks) and other design tools to create detailed and accurate mechanical designs.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate design concepts into practical solutions.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work closely with cross-functional teams.
