Working Hours  


We operate a 37.5-hour working week designed to support work-life balance. We offer flexible start and finish times between 8am and 6pm, provided that core hours of 10am to 4pm are covered for team collaboration and meetings. 


 


About The Role 


The Mechanical Engineer role exists to support IN2’s award-winning MEP team in delivering high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions across a variety of projects. This role contributes to every stage of project delivery, from concept design to handover, while supporting resource planning, client engagement, and quality assurance. By ensuring technical excellence and efficient project execution, this role directly contributes to IN2’s reputation for innovation and client satisfaction. 





What you will do 


As a Mechanical Engineer at our Dublin Office, you will:  



  • Assist in the design, development, and delivery of mechanical engineering solutions for sustainable MEP projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. 



  • Support the design team in drafting plans, preparing reports, developing project scopes, and coordinating project activities; contribute to resource planning and scheduling to ensure smooth project execution. 



  • Produce detailed mechanical designs, calculations, and tender packages; oversee installation on-site; ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards; provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers. 



  • Maintain adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations on all projects; ensure quality assurance procedures are followed; support risk assessments and project audits. 



  • Work closely with senior engineers, architects, project managers, and clients; participate in client meetings and presentations; facilitate communication across multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals. 



  • Report to Senior Mechanical Engineers and Project Leads; provide updates on project progress, resource allocation, and technical issues; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team. 


 


 


Your Experience 


To be considered for this role, you should have:  





Essential 



  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 



  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within an engineering consultancy or practice, with exposure to project delivery from concept through to completion. 



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech; experience with REVIT is preferred but not essential. Strong understanding of MEP systems and sustainable engineering principles. 



  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, proactive approach, ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team, and strong communication skills for client and stakeholder interaction. 





Desirable 



  • Professional Engineering accreditation or ongoing membership with a recognised engineering institution. 



  • Experience in sustainable, energy-efficient, or award-winning MEP projects. 



  • Exposure to resource management, planning, and mentoring of junior engineers; ability to contribute to project management, budgeting, and client reporting.
