Mechanical Fitter/Yard Operative

Carry out routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on feed mill machinery and equipment.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.

Perform preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency.

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations while carrying out maintenance work.

Work closely with the mill operations team to respond promptly to breakdowns.

Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.

Follow best practices to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

Experience working as a Fitter, Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician in an industrial or agricultural setting.

Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with experience in maintaining heavy machinery.

Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Ability to work independently and use initiative when required.

Good level of welding and fabrication experience.
