Job Description - Medical Registrar in General Internal Medicine (GIM)
RecruitNet International Ltd specialises in Healthcare recruitment for Domestic and Overseas candidates for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home care and Community care.
We are hiring an Medical Registrar in General Internal Medicine (GIM) to a leading Hospital in Dublin,Ireland.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including history taking, physical examinations, ordering investigations, coordinating care, and arranging follow-ups.
Complete inpatient drug charts and admission documentation to prevent duplication of work.
Assist with patient admissions (ward referrals, day cases, or transfers) when required, based on consultant direction and workload demands.
Work flexible hours aligned with peak service times, typically afternoons and early evenings.
Assess, review, verify, and document patient findings as requested, ensuring timely and accurate clinical documentation.
Provide clinical cover and support for procedures across departments.
Prescribe medications as directed by consultants or following appropriate clinical review.
Support consultants in patient management and promptly escalate any concerns or issues.
Contribute to teaching and training of colleagues, nursing staff, and students.
Participate in on-call rotas, clinical meetings (e.g., M&M), emergency response, administrative duties, quality improvement initiatives, and adhere to all hospital policies, safety standards, and professional conduct requirements.
Requirements
Hold a recognized Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Have a minimum of five years' post-qualification clinical experience.
Possess current full registration with the Medical Council.
Demonstrate strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient management skills appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
Can work independently, make sound clinical decisions, and effectively manage patient care.
Exhibit excellent leadership, supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Show a high level of professional responsibility, accountability, and initiative.
Be adaptable and able to respond effectively to the evolving demands and changes within a hospital environment.
Possess excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
