There is currently one part-time (0.5 WTE) vacancy available in the Theatre Department which will be filled on a permanent basis.
A panel may be created for Clinical Nurse Manager 2 (CNM2 Grade 2119) – Operating Theatre, Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore, from which current and future specified purpose vacancies of full time or part time duration, may be filled.

Purpose of the Post:
The post of CNM 2 (Theatre) has a pivotal role in service planning, co-ordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are: quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional / clinical leadership. The successful applicant will have specific responsibility for anaesthetic and post anaesthetic care unit management across the theatre complex.
Eligibility Criteria /Qualifications and/ or experience:
Each candidate must, at the latest date for receipt of completed applications for the post:
1. Professional Qualifications, Experience etc.
Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:
- Are registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland [NMBI] (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) or entitled to be so registered.
AND
- Have at least 5 years post registration experience (or an aggregate of 5 years fulltime post registration experience) of which 2 years must be in the speciality or related area.
AND
- Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
AND
- Candidates must demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.
AND
- Candidates must possess the requisite knowledge and ability including a high standard of suitability and clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
2. Annual Registration
a) Practitioners must maintain live annual registration on the appropriate / relevant Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) for the role.
AND
b) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to the HSE by way of the Annual patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).
3. Health
A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
4. Character
Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
