We are hiring on behalf of our client for an exciting New Product Development Scientist opportunity based in Co. Wexford.

This New Product Development Scientist role offers the opportunity to join a rapidly growing manufacturer at the forefront of functional beverages, powders and nutritional supplements. Working as part of an experienced New Product Development team, you'll play a key role in developing innovative products from concept through to commercial launch while collaborating closely with Production, Quality and Procurement.

The Role

• Develop and formulate innovative beverage, powder and nutritional products.


• Support projects from concept through laboratory development, factory trials and commercial launch.


• Carry out technical assessments, identifying formulation, manufacturing and microbiological risks.


• Lead product validation activities including shelf-life studies, stability testing and microbiological programmes.


• Support production scale-up and troubleshoot technical manufacturing issues.


• Work closely with Production, Quality and Procurement teams to ensure products are commercially viable.


• Prepare and maintain product specifications, technical documentation and quality records.


• Support HACCP reviews, raw material risk assessments and change control activities.


• Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated and compliant.


• Keep up to date with industry trends, emerging ingredients and product innovation opportunities.


• Support customer technical queries and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Person

• Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition or a related scientific discipline.


• Minimum 3 years' experience within New Product Development in food, beverage or nutritional supplements.


• Strong knowledge of beverage and powder formulation.


• Experience with shelf-life studies, microbiological testing and product validation.


• Good understanding of HACCP, Food Safety and Quality Management Systems.


• Experience supporting factory trials and product scale-up.


• Excellent organisational and project management skills.


• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.


• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.


• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.


• Full authorisation to work in Ireland.
