Senior Sustainability & Environmental Advisor

Role Overview

The Senior Sustainability & Environmental Advisor will support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and continual improvement across construction and civil engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support environmental management and ISO 14001 compliance.


• Deliver initiatives covering decarbonisation, circular economy, biodiversity, and climate adaptation.


• Identify environmental risks and opportunities and develop mitigation plans.


• Prepare environmental and sustainability reports, KPIs, and project documentation.


• Support BREEAM, LEED, WELL, and other environmental assessments.


• Deliver environmental training and awareness to project teams.


• Provide environmental and sustainability input to tenders and PQQs.


• Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams.


• Support environmental improvement programmes and project delivery.

Requirements

• Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline.


• 3+ years' environmental or sustainability experience within construction or civil engineering.


• Working towards or holding relevant professional membership.


• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, ISO 14001, carbon reduction, and circular economy principles.


• Experience with sustainability reporting and carbon calculations.


• Experience preparing management plans, risk assessments, and environmental documentation.


• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and organisational skills.


• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
