The Opportunity
As a Newly Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant, you will form part of the in-house Finance team across a broad range of accounting and reporting activities in a fast-paced renewable energy environment. This role will suit someone who enjoys ownership of tasks, working cross-functionally, and contributing to continuous improvement within an evolving business.
Responsibilities Include
Prepare and maintain accurate accounting records and working papers in line with company procedures and accounting standards. • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments. • Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Prepare and submit VAT, VAT RTD, and RCT returns in a timely and compliant manner. • Preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external accountants and auditors as required. • Maintain accurate fixed asset and project cost records related to renewable energy installations. • Assist with cost tracking, supplier invoice processing, and expense analysis. • Support interdepartmental collaboration by responding to finance-related queries from sales, operations, and installation teams. • Ensure financial data integrity across accounting systems and support system improvements where required. • Adhere to, and help develop, internal financial controls, policies, and procedures. • Undertake ad hoc finance and reporting tasks as required to support the growing business.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar accounting or finance role, ideally within an in-house or industry environment. • Experienced Qualified/Part Qualified Accountant. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail. • Ability to prepare management accounts for reporting purposes together with cost analysis back up • Self-motivated with the ability to manage workload independently and take ownership of tasks. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with at least excellent Excel skills. • Experience with Sage Accounts, Intact IQ and Salesforce is advantageous. • Office based role so must live within a commutable distance of our HQ in Carrickmacross.
