The Opportunity 

We are looking for an Operations and Maintenance Technician with a strong electrical background to support the preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance of our expanding solar PV portfolio which includes rooftop and ground-mounted systems ranging from 100kWp to 20MWp.  

This is a hands-on, field-based role involving nationwide travel and occasional overnight stays, ensuring our assets continue to operate safely, efficiently and reliably. Position will be based from the ............. service hub, with nationwide coverage. Specialist training for maintenance will be provided both in-house and by OEMs. Technicians will also have the opportunity to work towards, with training and experience, industry recognised LV/HV Authorised person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP). 

Key Responsibilities 

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with O&M schedules and manufacturer recommendations. 

• Perform inspections, testing and maintenance of solar PV systems, including modules, inverters, switchgear, combiner boxes, monitoring systems and associated electrical equipment across rooftop and ground-mounted installations. 

• Diagnose and rectify electrical, communications and monitoring faults to minimise downtime and maximise system performance. 

• Respond to reactive maintenance callouts and breakdowns as . 

• Complete AC & DC electrical testing where applicable, including insulation resistance testing, thermal imaging and system performance checks. 

• Monitor system performance and investigate alarms or underperforming assets. 

• Maintain accurate service reports, maintenance records and fault logs using digital reporting systems. 

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental (QHSE) standards, Safe Electric requirements, RAMS and site procedures. 

• Liaise with the O&M Manager, operations team and equipment manufacturers to resolve technical issues. 

• Support commissioning activities, warranty claims, asset inspections and site surveys where . 

• Manage site housekeeping, spare parts and customer communication while maintaining a professional standard at all times. 

Qualifications & Key Skills 

Essential 

• Qualified Electrician (National Craft Certificate or equivalent). 

• Minimum three years' experience in electrical installation, maintenance or renewable energy. 

• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills. 

• Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems. 

• Full clean driving licence. 

• Willingness to travel throughout Ireland and work away from home when . 

• Strong organisational, IT and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently and safely. 

Desirable 

• Solar PV installation and maintenance experience  

• Experience with SCADA, fibre networks and monitoring platforms. 

• Knowledge of Huawei, Sungrow or SMA inverter systems. 

• Working at Height, Manual Handling, and First Aid certification, Safe Pass. 

• Thermal imaging experience. 

• Experience with utility-scale solar assets, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) or EV charging infrastructure.
