We are hiring an Occupational Therapist for a hospital in Galway, Ireland.
Permanent Part-Time Position – 33 Hours per Week
Uphold the principle that patient care always comes first, approaching all duties with flexibility, enthusiasm, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
Maintain awareness throughout the hospital of the primacy of the patient in relation to all hospital activities.
Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and review of appropriate treatment and intervention programmes for patients in accordance with service standards.
Communicate assessment findings, treatment/intervention programmes, outcomes, and recommendations verbally and/or in writing to the multidisciplinary team and other relevant personnel, as required.
Attend and actively participate in ward rounds, multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, clinics, and other relevant meetings as designated by the Senior Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Manager.
Be registered with the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge of Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment for acute and elderly patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, using evidence-based practice.
Demonstrate experience working in an acute hospital setting, particularly with patients presenting with physical health conditions.
Demonstrate knowledge of current Occupational Therapy models of practice and experience implementing appropriate treatment and intervention programmes.
Demonstrate knowledge and experience in complex discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Have the requisite knowledge, skills, and ability, including a high standard of suitability and professional ability, to properly perform the duties of the role.
