The IRFU are inviting applications for the role of Pathways Performance Analyst – Women’s Rugby, IRFU.

The Pathways Performance Analyst – Women’s Rugby will provide a world leading analysis service within the IRFU Analytics Dept. with the primary responsibility of the Women’s Pathway.

The position is being offered on a full time, 2 year fixed term contract basis.

POSITION TITLE:

Pathways Performance Analyst – Women’s Rugby

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Provide a world leading analysis service within the IRFU Analytics Dept. with the primary responsibility of the Women’s Pathway

CONTRACT LENGTH:

2 years

ROLE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

- To work within the existing IRFU Analytics Dept.

- To provide world leading analytics service for players, coaches, and stakeholders in the IRFU

- To work with teams as directed by Head of Women’s Performance & Pathways, Head of Analytics and National Team Women’s analyst.

- To travel to tournaments and matches with IRFU teams as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

To understand, connect and develop the Women’s Pathway players and coaches so they have appropriate exposure to International Standard Performance Analysis before entering the senior system.

• Perform role of lead analyst for the Women’s National Talent Squad


• Lead the delivery of analysis provision for the Celtic Challenge, serving as team analyst for one team while overseeing and coordinating analysis support for the other


• Lead the analysis provision for the U21 Women’s 6 Nations campaign while overseeing and coordinating the analysis support for the U18 Women’s 6 Nations campaign.


• Perform role of support analyst for HP teams


• Work with all teams from age grade to senior as agreed in advance.


• Gather video footage, both training and playing as directed.


• Collect and preview footage of upcoming opponents and identifying key players/threats for scouting meetings and presentations if required


• Provide coaches with support and assistance with team presentations


• Liaise with Team managements to ensure alignment of practice across the programmes


• Carry out any other duties that may be assigned as required across Women’s Rugby Pathways

ESSENTIAL QUALITIES:

• Excellent Rugby Knowledge


• Minimum BSc. Academic qualification in the area of Sports Science or related subject


• Excellent knowledge of the Hudl product suite


• Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to communicate / disseminate information


• In depth knowledge of Apple product suite


• Ability to translate large datasets to clearly presented actionable insights

Salary for this role is depending on experience.
