Purpose of the role:


Reporting to the People & Culture Partner, the Payroll Officer will oversee end to end payroll operations across multiple payrolls which is reflective of our workforce and the nature of the work provided by our employees. The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all employees, including core staff, casual workers, and those working across multiple jurisdictions. The role ensures compliance with relevant tax, labour, and social security regulations, while maintaining accurate payroll records and providing responsive support to employees regarding payroll-related matters.



Key Responsibilities:


Payroll Processing



  • Prepare and process payroll for multiple employee groups (core, casual, and international) across different payment cycles.

  • Ensure the correct application of pay rates, hours worked, deductions, benefits, bonuses, and commissions.


System and Vendor Oversight



  • Lead out on the development and implementation of enhanced payroll systems to streamline the payroll process working closely with People & Culture and IT teams.

  • Manage relationships with external payroll service providers where applicable.


Compliance and Reporting



  • Ensure compliance with all relevant tax, labour, and social security laws across multiple jurisdictions including the UK and Ireland.

  • Prepare annual gender pay gap report as required in collaboration with the Finance Team.

  • Prepare and submit statutory filings including PAYE, pension contributions, small benefit exemption and international tax returns as applicable.


Audit and Documentation



  • Maintain accurate payroll records in accordance with internal policies and audit requirements.

  • Prepare payroll-related reports for internal departments, auditors, and external stakeholders.


Employee Support & Engagement



  • Act as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries.

  • Provide guidance to employees regarding payslips, deductions, taxes, and leave balances.

  • Support the People & Culture team with ad hoc payroll-related projects as required.


 


Any other Payroll related projects which might be assigned by People & Culture Director from time to time


 


The Person:


The successful candidate will have the following:


 


Experience & Qualifications



  • IPASS Certified

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing payroll in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience handling multiple payrolls, including casual or part-time staff, is desirable.


 


Skills & Professional Knowledge



  • Knowledge of revenue and legislative regulations

  • Experience in gender pay gap reporting

  • Experience managing multiple payrolls simultaneously

  • Experiencing managing casual payrolls with complexities

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent multitasking skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Highly developed attention to detail

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to work with confidential information
