Job Description - Press Brake Operator

Description

Set up and operate manual and/or CNC press brake machines.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
Select, install, and adjust the appropriate punches, dies, and tooling.
Programme or adjust machine settings, including bend angles, back gauges, and material positioning, as required.
Measure and inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Carry out first-off inspections and routine quality checks during production.
Identify and report defective components, tooling issues, and machine faults.
Ensure materials are handled and processed correctly to minimise waste and damage.
Perform routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance.
Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Keep the work area clean, organised, and free from hazards.
Meet production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
Work closely with production supervisors, quality personnel, and other team members.

Requirements

Previous experience operating a press brake machine is desirable.
Experience with CNC press brake systems is an advantage.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Knowledge of sheet metal bending, fabrication processes, and tooling.
Experience using measuring equipment such as callipers, micrometers, and angle gauges.
Basic computer skills for CNC machine operation, where applicable.
Relevant technical training or manufacturing experience is an advantage.
