Here, you\u2019ll be supported in progressing \u2013 whatever your ambitions.\n\nAdvancing possibilities for a brighter tomorrow\n\nWe are seeking a Principal Embedded Software Engineer on a permanent basis to join our team.\n\nJob Purpose:\n\n \n\nWe are looking for a Principal Embedded Software Engineer to develop safety-critical embedded software for active implantable urology devices. In this role, you will design, implement, and verify software that controls implantable functionality, sensing, communication, and device safety.\n\nThe role requires a strong understanding of embedded systems development in a regulated medical device environment.\n\n \n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n \n\n * Design, implement, and test embedded software for active implantable devices.\n * Collaborate with systems and hardware teams to translate requirements into embedded software architecture and design.\n * Develop low-power, real-time software for implantable platforms.\n * Support software integration, bring-up, and system-level debugging.\n * Ensure software development complies with software lifecycle processes and design controls.\n * Conduct software risk analysis and contribute to system FMEA activities.\n * Support unit, integration, and system-level testing and verification.\n * Generate and maintain software documentation per Quality Management System requirements.\n * Support regulatory submissions through software documentation and technical responses.\n\n\n\n \n\nEducation \u0026 Experience:\n\n \n\n * Hons bachelor\u0027s degree or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.\n * 10+ years of experience developing embedded software in a regulated environment.\n * Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.\n * Experience with real-time operating systems or bare-metal software.\n * Strong understanding of software verification, documentation, and traceability.\n\n\n\n \n\nPreferred qualifications \u0026 experience:\n\n * Experience developing embedded software for active implantable medical devices.\n * Familiarity with IEC 62304 and medical software lifecycle standards.\n * Experience with low-power embedded systems and communication protocols.\n\n\n\nAs a leader in medical science for more than 40 years, we are committed to solving the challenges that matter most \u2013 united by a deep caring for human life.
