Principal Functional Safety Engineer 

Location:  Limerick, Ireland

Job Description 

Analog Devices, Inc. are looking for an experienced Functional Safety Engineer to join our Automotive Networking team in Limerick, Ireland. The successful candidate will bring experience in the implementation of Functional Safety practices in an automotive environment – experience with semiconductors being a distinct advantage.  

This functional safety lead role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a talented, global team working on state-of-the-art automotive connectivity solutions. At Analog Devices, we value dedication to excellence, our collaborative culture and a relentless drive to push technological boundaries. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support automotive connectivity semiconductor and system developments as safety lead 

  • Author functional safety deliverables 

  • Engage with all faculties across the development team to negotiate and oversee the development of other functional safety deliverables 

  • Liaise closely with the Functional Safety Office  

  • Develop safety plans and conduct safety reviews 

  • Disseminate functional safety knowledge  

  • Assist in developing and enhancing organisational functional safety best practices 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 15+ years experience in functional safety 

  • Automotive industry experience at OEM, tier-1 or tier-2 level 

  • Profound familiarity with ISO26262 

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 

  • Collaborative nature  

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and both independent and team-oriented work ethics. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with effective teamwork and leadership capabilities. 

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export  licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.  As such, applicants for this position – except US Citizens, US Permanent Residents, and protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) – may have to go through an export licensing review process.
