WHAT TO EXPECT As a Principal SW System Architect, you’ll be part of the On-Board Architecture Chapter and you will be responsible for the coordination of interfaces and requirements activities and support the team in case of critical technical delivery issues in your domain.

Day to day, you will be supporting the development of the solution architecture and the SW platform within the Digital Product Platform team, ranging from ADAS, to Infotainment or Chassis systems, resolving technical blockers and advising the right technical strategy. You will be working with the architects from the other squads to ensure interfaces are well defined and dependencies between the squads are clear and resolve architectural or development issues. You will be active in the management and mitigation of technical risks, ensuring that the requirements can be realistically delivered by the underlying technology components.

You will have the opportunity to be involved in defining the strategy driving the future of automotive and will be influential in the development of the Software platform and features across the range of JLR vehicles.

THE ROLE Key Responsibilities

• Generation and curation of SW system requirements
• Cockpit architecture solution with evidence of technical feasibility
• Review and sign off of high and low level design

Key Performance Indicators

• Being accountable for the technical excellence of technology systems and solutions
• Maximising value from systems through technical sustainability, longevity, and reusability
• Overseeing and supporting the assessment of solutions excellence to core KPI’s

• S/W and system architects
• Other product teams and group/domain POs
• 3rd party suppliers

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Knowledge across several programming languages, including C/C++
• SW development and architecture in one of: embedded, automotive, aerospace, transportation SW
• Extensive OS systems / SW platforms knowledge (at least two of Unix/QNX/Autosar/Android)
• UML Design
• Knowledge of networking systems and protocols
• Ability to lead and organise a team of engineers

Personal Profile

• A good communicator with the ability to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders
