We are seeking a Process Engineer to support the optimisation, standardisation, and automation of our end‑to‑end manufacturing processes. Although we operate within a construction manufacturing environment, we strongly value experience from FMCG, packaging, food & beverage, or high-volume manufacturing, where process discipline, HACCP principles, and robust SOP/PPS practices drive efficiency and quality.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building processes from the ground up, improving existing flows, and implementing practical automation solutions that enhance safety, quality, and throughput. There will be travel to the UK to help translate the licensed UK process into an efficient, repeatable, safe and quality-controlled Irish manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Optimisation
Analyse new & current manufacturing workflows and map detailed process flows using Lean, Six Sigma or similar methodologies.
Lead and support value stream mapping, cycle-time studies, and bottleneck analysis.
Implement improvements targeting reduced waste, improved takt time, and higher process reliability.
Support capacity modelling and process layout changes as the facility scales.
Automation & Technology Integration
Identify opportunities for automation (mechanical, electrical, controls, data systems) across production lines and support areas.
Work with equipment suppliers, integrators, and internal stakeholders to implement automated solutions.
Develop functional specifications (URS/FRS), validation plans, and commissioning documentation.
Support PLC, sensor, SCADA or MES-related continuous improvement (experience not essential but strongly beneficial).
Quality, Standards & Compliance
Develop and maintain SOPs, PPS, and HACCP-aligned processes for manufacturing operations.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
Ensure processes comply with internal QMS as well as external regulatory or industry standards.
Support risk assessments (FMEA, process hazard analysis) and drive error-proofing (poka-yoke) principles.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Partner with production, maintenance, quality, EHS, and project teams on improvement activities.
Train and upskill operators and supervisors on new systems, technologies, and operational standards.
Support the introduction of new equipment, products, and processes throughout their lifecycle.
Background in Engineering, ideally Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Automation, or Process Engineering.
Significant experience in a manufacturing environment (FMCG, food production, pharma, packaging, or similar).
Strong knowledge of process flows, SOP development, HACCP principles, and structured RCA.
Proven track record of delivering measurable performance improvements.
Demonstrated experience with Lean tools: 5S, Kaizen, DMAIC, VSM, standard work, etc.
Experience in construction-prefab manufacturing or related heavy manufacturing.
Exposure to PLCs, robotics, automated handling equipment, machine data systems.
Certification (Lean Green Belt, Six Sigma, Food Safety/HACCP, PMP) considered an advantage.
Familiarity with digital transformation tools (MES/OEE platforms, Power BI, IoT sensors).
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communicator with the ability to influence frontline and leadership teams.
Passion for continuous improvement with a hands-on approach.
