Job Description - Quality Manager

Join our dynamic team as a Quality Manager at our Poppintree site in North Dublin!

This is an incredible opportunity to play a crucial role within our technical department, where you will ensure that our quality, legality, and food safety standards are consistently upheld throughout the production process. You'll also have the responsibility of leading a dedicated small quality team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quality Control: lead and develop the team of QA’s, manage daily safety and quality of products, liaising closely with production teams. Investigation of complaints and report of findings
  • Issue Identification & correction: Identify potential quality issues and work on corrections with the production department, escalate to the technical director as required.
  • Data Analysis: Analyse quality control data to identify trends and implement corrective actions to maintain product standards, present in the monthly food safety meetings.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Act as site lead to ensure RCA is implemented as appropriate, using the 5 why’s technique to reduce reoccurrence and improve efficiency within the site
  • Communication: Effectively communicate quality issues and resolutions within the QA team and with other stakeholders such as production supervisors and line workers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, maintaining assertiveness when addressing quality concerns while fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Compliance: Ensure the implementation and adherence to food safety regulations, customer requirements, and internal standards, communicating these effectively to all levels within the company. Ensure traceability of all products/materials throughout the production process
  • Teamwork: Work closely with production, hygiene, QA and NPD teams to ensure continuous improvement

 

Role Deliverables

  • Attention to Detail: Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage daily tasks to ensure all duties are completed within designated timeframes.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to work cross-functionally and at various levels of the organization.
  • Adaptability & Flexibility: Willingness to learn and adapt to changes within the business
  • Work Environment: This role is based in a meat processing facility. The role may require visiting one of our UK production facilities.  Candidates should be comfortable working in such settings and be flexible to travel. 

Key requirements:

  • Food technology/science related qualification
  • 3-5 years quality management experience in fast paced, preferably chilled environment
  • People management experience
  • Good Factory floor presence and a hands on approach
  • Good working knowledge of HACCP and BRCGS
