The QA Manager is responsible for implementing, managing, and enforcing all on-site Quality Assurance procedures for roofing and cladding systems. This role plays a key part in delivering high-quality installations through rigorous control, documentation, and proactive communication with project teams and clients. The QA Manager will take ownership of the full QA process on site — from First-Off-Checks (FOKs) and Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), to detailed build-up documentation and final area handovers.
The role is field-based and requires a strong understanding of envelope construction, particularly in managing quality milestones, coordinating hold points, tracking air seal installations, and leading the 3-stage handover process (W1, W2, W3). The QA Manager will use Procore and other tools to provide visual evidence, ensure compliance, and drive timely handovers.
Key Functions & Results Areas (Key Activities):
1: On-Site QA Management
Lead all QA processes for roofing, cladding, curtain walling, rainscreen, and door installations.
Oversee and document First-Off-Checks (FOKs) for all systems.
Ensure all ITPs are followed, signed off, and aligned with project milestones.
Coordinate hold points with site teams and client representatives
2: Build-Up Verification & Tracking
Inspect and verify full build-ups including insulation, air seals, membranes, and fixings.
Use Procore to capture and tag photos to drawings, documenting each build layer.
Regularly review and audit workmanship and system installation against spec
3.Air Sealing and Envelope Integrity
Track all air seal installations and ensure photographic and written evidence is captured.
Sign off air seal stages prior to walls, ceilings, or cladding closure.
Coordinate with M&E and other trades to validate penetrations and seal integrity.
4: Handover Management
Drive the 3-stage handover system (W1 – works complete, W2 – snagging, W3 – close-out).
Ensure handovers are well documented, scheduled, and clearly communicated with the client.
Maintain tracker of open and closed zones, tied to QA sign-offs and program requirements.
Manage and complete all client related open issues on their platform, keeping on top of this and closing out throughout Project.
5: Client & Internal Communication
Liaise daily with Project Managers, Site Managers, and the client’s QA team.
Proactively highlight risks or potential delays due to QA-related issues.
Provide weekly QA updates, including summary reports and photo documentation.
6: Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned
Participate in lessons learned processes to feed into future QA plans.
Assist with subcontractor quality reviews and recommend improvements.
Maintain and support rollout of company QA standards across all live projects.
Person Specification:
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a site-based QA/QC role within construction (ideally envelope-related).
In-depth understanding of roofing, cladding, curtain walling, and façade system installation.
Strong working knowledge of ITPs, FOKs, air seal practices, and QA protocols.
Experienced in using Procore (or similar systems) for tracking and QA documentation.
Excellent attention to detail and proactive mindset for driving standards on site.
Strong communication and organisational skills with ability to coordinate across teams.
Full driving licence and willingness to travel to projects across Ireland and Europe
