Job Description - Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview

Due to continued growth, Crown is seeking to recruit two Intermediate Quantity Surveyors to join our Commercial team on a site-based basis across European projects.

Reporting to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager, the successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial management of live projects, working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers and subcontractors to ensure strong cost control and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires flexibility and willingness to work abroad as project locations will vary across Europe.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day commercial activities on site in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prepare, monitor and control project budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete reports.
  • Measure works on site and prepare accurate interim and final valuations.
  • Prepare client applications and support the invoicing process.
  • Manage procurement of subcontractors and materials in line with project requirements and budgets.
  • Assess subcontractor applications, prepare valuations, manage payments and agree final accounts.
  • Administer construction contracts, including variations, change control and commercial reporting.
  • Monitor project costs and highlight risks, opportunities and cost-saving measures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records, correspondence and documentation.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Site Managers to support programme delivery and commercial alignment.
  • Assist in the preparation of commercial reports for senior management.
  • Construction-related degree or equivalent (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Sciences or Mathematics preferred).
  • At least 5 years’ post-graduate experience in a quantity surveying role within the construction industry.
  • Experience within roofing, cladding or façade systems is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts and procurement processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong numerical, analytical and commercial awareness skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working within site-based teams.
  • High level of IT proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook); Microsoft Project and/or Primavera an advantage.
  • Full, current driving licence.
  • Location Requirements: Candidate should be based in Ireland, the UK, or Europe, with the ability and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Valid passport and willingness to work on projects across Europe, including rotational site commitments.
