Role: Quantity Surveyor

Client: Main Contractor - Vary from commercial, to pharma and residential 

Essentials: 2 years' post-graduate cost planning experience with a PQS/Developer; strong IT skills (Buildsoft-Cubit, CostX or equivalent, Microsoft Word and Excel)

Location: Office based in Central Dublin 

Salary: €50,000 - €65,000

Project Quantity Surveyor

About the Role


As a Quantity Surveyor in our team, you will have progressed from graduate level and will be focused upon becoming a Senior Surveyor. We have a progressive training programme focused upon your development and tailored to meet the requirements of the SCSI/RICS Assessment of Professional Competence. You will be given the tools to assist you manage a trainee or graduate quantity surveyor, participate in departmental training, and receive training from seniors while giving training to juniors.



 


Key Responsibilities




  • Procurement & Subcontracts: Participate in the procurement of specialist trades, make appointment recommendations to the Project Director, assist in drafting subcontract agreements, and manage interim valuations and final accounts.




  • Cost Management & Reporting: Participate in monthly internal cost reporting systems (CVRs, turnover reports, prelim cost reports, project outcome projections) and complete monthly valuations for submission to the Employer’s Representative.




  • Design & Value Engineering: Review developing design information to advise the wider project team of cost implications in good time and identify value engineering opportunities.




  • Commercial & Contractual Advice: Assist in providing proactive contractual advice to the Project Director, lead the project final account submission to the client, and build strong working relationships across the project team.




Key Requirements




  • Education & Experience: Level 8 degree in Quantity Surveying (or above) with 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.




  • Technical Skills: Computer literate in MS Office with knowledge of Bluebeam, CostX, or Cubit (training can be provided).




  • Industry Knowledge: Reasonable knowledge of current forms of agreement, a proven track record dealing with subcontractors and clients, and solid problem-solving skills.




  • Core Competencies: Career-driven, ambitious, ability to provide clear reports, work well under pressure, and focused on promotion to Senior Surveyor.
