The Land Development Agency (LDA) is the State’s affordable housing delivery body. Its main role is to acquire and develop State and other land to deliver affordable homes, supporting the creation of thriving communities and delivering ongoing positive social impact. It is overseen by an independent Board of Directors and has total capitalisation of up to €8.75bn. To date €6.25 billion of equity capital has been committed by Government and a further €2.5bn capitalisation is permitted under legislation from other sources/debt.
The LDA is active on more than 20 State Land sites and has a delivery pipeline in excess of 25,000 homes. The Agency also works in partnership with the country’s largest and most experienced homebuilders and will deliver a further 8,000 homes under its Project Tosaigh initiative.
Additionally, the LDA is working on large-scale longer-term strategic areas by master-planning and bringing forward planning applications in locations such as Limerick Colbert Quarter, the Digital Hub in Dublin and Sandy Road in Galway.
Role Purpose
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Reception and Office Administrator will provide a professional front-of-house service for the LDA and help ensure the smooth, efficient running of the Dublin office. The role will act as a first point of contact for visitors, customers, suppliers and colleagues, while also supporting office systems, meeting room coordination and administrative activity across office operations and property-related projects.
The role is central to creating a professional, welcoming and efficient office experience for employees, visitors, suppliers and partners. It requires a proactive administrator who can balance front-of-house responsibilities with day-to-day office coordination, confidential administration and support for teams across the Agency.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the first point of contact for visitors, customers, suppliers and colleagues, providing a professional, welcoming and helpful front-of-house service.
Answer, screen and direct incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally, taking accurate messages and ensuring queries are routed to the appropriate employee or department.
Coordinate responses to enquiries relating to specific projects, units or general office matters, ensuring timely follow-up and a high standard of customer service.
Manage visitor sign-in processes, maintain accurate visitor logs and support appropriate access and security procedures for the office.
Oversee the smooth running of meeting rooms, including booking management, room set-up, refreshments and liaison with internal colleagues and external attendees as required.
Support calendar bookings, meeting coordination and general scheduling activity for office operations and relevant teams.
Administer day-to-day office systems and processes, ensuring records, logs and administrative information are maintained accurately and efficiently. Support office events, team meetings and staff engagement initiatives as required.
Maintain the daily post and courier log, coordinate incoming and outgoing deliveries and liaise with suppliers or service providers as needed.
Assist with general office coordination, including maintaining a tidy, organised and professional reception and shared office environment.
Provide administrative support to projects and teams across the LDA based in Dublin and regional / site-based staff including document handling, information gathering, data entry and other clerical tasks as required.
Handle confidential, commercially sensitive and personal information appropriately, in line with internal procedures and expected professional standards.
Work closely with the Office Manager and wider team to proactively identify opportunities to improve front-of-house processes, office administration and the overall experience for employees, visitors and partners.
Complete relevant health and safety training, including Fire Marshall training and incorporate this into day to day activities.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
Client facing experience in an office environment
Proven ability to work on a diverse range of projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Project management skills plus the proven ability to handle multiple tasks/projects at any one time
Strong excel and Microsoft Office skills
Previous experience in handling confidential and commercially sensitive information
A strong work ethic with an ability to meet regular and tight deadlines
