The Role
We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic Membership Engagement & Retention Executive to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the member experience at IoD Ireland. You’ll be at the heart of our membership journey—connecting with current and prospective members, enhancing their experience, and helping to grow a strong and engaged community of directors and business leaders.
This is a varied, people-focused role that will suit someone with a passion for relationship-building, delivering results, and making a meaningful impact.
Key Responsibilities
Membership Engagement
Be the first point of contact for many members—driving engagement through proactive, personalised outreach via calls, emails, and events.
Monitor member activity and trends, using insights to develop and implement smart, targeted retention strategies.
Take ownership of CRM accuracy to ensure seamless renewals and onboarding, keeping member data up to date and interactions smooth.
Help shape a more intuitive digital member experience by identifying and suggesting improvements to the online journey.
Maximise member participation in events, supporting on-site as needed to deliver a polished, professional experience.
Membership Growth
Play a key role in expanding our membership by identifying and reaching out to prospective members with confidence and clarity.
Handle membership queries effectively, showcasing the real value of being part of the IoD Ireland community.
Support and deliver retention campaigns and member communications that drive loyalty and satisfaction.
Board Evaluation Administration
Support our board evaluation service by providing essential administrative coordination to the assessor team—ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality throughout each engagement.
Board Appointments Support
Provide administrative support for Board recruitment processes, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date member data, assisting with search assignments, and coordinating all related communications.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
3+ years’ experience in a commercial, membership, or client-facing role, with a strong track record of achieving targets.
Excellent communication skills and confidence in engaging with individuals at all levels.
Proactive and professional approach to outreach and relationship management.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Demonstrated capability in CRM systems and MS Office.
Desirable:
Experience in membership engagement or business development in a professional or not-for-profit setting.
Experience in executive search and selection or recruitment of senior-level professionals.
Familiarity with digital marketing tools or campaign execution.
