We are currently recruiting for the following position: Repair & Maintenance Engineer

Purpose: To perform skilled maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Manager. To service, repair, install and maintain pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distribution and waste water disposal throughout the building(s) as required/directed. To assist in maintaining inventories of tools and spare parts. To respond to maintenance requests from other departments and guests. To complete special projects as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

RESPONSIBILITY

  • Routine skilled preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment, boilers, pumps.
  • Minimal equipment down time Cost efficiency of equipment repairs and replacements
  • Respond to guestroom/guest complaints.
  • Replacement/Repair when necessary.
  • Respond to housekeeping departmental needs for guestroom maintenance.
  • Efficient response minimizing housekeeping deficiencies.
  • Routine skilled maintenance of building and hardware, including pool and hot tub areas, and snow melt systems.
  • Building function & appearance
  • Maintain tools and materials in an orderly fashion, request ordering of spares on timely basis.
  • Ease of locating parts, parts available when needed.
  • Assemble and install replacement of equipment and parts as required – ability to read blueprints/drawings and provide cost and time estimates for work required.
  • Proper functioning of equipment, time required and cost to complete task.
  • Emergency leak and other repairs to building and equipment as needed.
  • Coordination with outside contractors if appropriate.
  • Record-keeping and reporting for projects and changes to systems as required.
  • Accurate records available to appropriate colleagues.
  • Any other reasonable duties as required.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Maintenance Manager Reports to
  • Other department’s employees Advises of work in progress, hazards of work in progress
  • Department Heads/Executive Comm. Status of equipment and/or building problems, particularly in absence of Maintenance Manager

EDUCATION

  • Completion of a four-year apprenticeship or equivalent in appropriate discipline

EXPERIENCE

5 years in appropriate trade
