We are currently hiring a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) for a Hospital in Galway, Ireland.
Responsibilitiesâ
Provide medical care to patients requiring acute or ongoing medical intervention.
Work under the direction of the Consultant in charge, reporting to both the Consultant and Hospital Management.
Review post\-call medical patients routinely or when requested by the Consultant or nursing staff.
Ensure accurate, legible, and contemporaneous documentation of all patient encounters, including Medical Council registration number.
Participate in structured handover of patients between shifts to ensure continuity of care.
Perform clinical procedures as indicated by patient needs and as requested by the Consultant.
Prescribe medications under Consultant guidance and dispense out\-of\-hours medications in line with hospital policy when pharmacy services are unavailable.
Ensure all medications, including IV fluid therapy, are accurately recorded in medical notes and prescription charts.
Full registration on the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland (MCI).
Satisfactory postgraduate training and clinical experience within Irish hospital settings.
MRCPI qualification or currently in the process of completing MRCPI.
Membership of the College of Physicians is desirable.
Demonstrated interest in Geriatric and/or Rehabilitation Medicine.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Personally and professionally accountable for patient care.
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
Flexible approach to working patterns, including 8â12 hour shifts, up to 39 hours per week.
Excellent attention to detail with a high standard of clinical documentation.
