A Retail Assistant is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a retail store by delivering excellent customer service, operating the checkout, handling transactions, and ensuring the store is well presented and fully stocked.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
  
• Provide product information and help customers make purchasing decisions
  
• Operate the checkout, processing cash, card, and digital payments accurately
  
• Handle cash responsibly, including till balancing and end -of -day procedures
  
• Assist customers with queries, exchanges, and returns
  
• Restock shelves and ensure products are correctly priced and well displayed
  
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the shop floor and checkout area
  
• Support stock control, deliveries, and inventory checks
  
• Assist with promotions, merchandising, and seasonal displays
  

Requirements

• Experience working at a checkout and handling cash transactions
  
• Strong customer service and communication skills
  
• Ability to work in a fast -paced retail environment
  
• Good numeracy and attention to detail
  
• Reliable, trustworthy, and responsible when handling money
  
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
